The Happiness Trap
As we begin to adjust to a new sense of ‘normal’ going back to work, children going back to school, shops opening again and life beginning to pick up pace, we may find our stress and anxiety levels going up.
We may begin to feel that hyper vigilance creeping back in, our thoughts could start to race again. The to-do list begins to grow again just as we had mastered getting on-top of the previous never-ending list.
Take 3 minutes out of your day to just watch this little video, it hugely compliments what I discuss on a daily basis with my clients about how our brain still functions like we are cavemen for our protection and security.
Although these tendencies once kept us alive and well as cave men and women. In our modern, technological, fast paced world these survival mechanisms cause us to feel overwhelmed, stressed, anxious and begins to affect things like our sleep quality, our ability to enjoy self-care, headaches start to kick in, perhaps IBS begins to flare up again. The negative impact can have an effect on our relationships, our work, performance, our happiness and our overall sense of wellbeing.
This is where we can step in and help.
As we begin to make changes, create a new sense of ‘normal’ and adjust to the necessary safety measures as we recover from COVID-19, why not give yourself a head start?
